PATHWAYS TO CAREERS SCHOLAR PROGRAM

ABOUT PATHWAYS TO CAREERS (P2C)

Through the Pathways to Careers (P2C) program, the Indiana Latino Institute provides support services, professional and academic guidance, and other activities created to foster success for participants during their college experience.  Professional development and mentoring are also offered for P2C students.

The Indiana Latino Institute (ILI) and its partner institutions, Indiana University Indianapolis and Marian University, recruit college students for two-year part-time positions to assist in:

  • Increasing the number of Latino high school graduates going to college
  • Supporting college students through completion of their college career
  • Preparing students for their career of choice

 

WHY APPLY?

  • Earn up to $8,700 in scholarships over the first two years of the program, if all hours are completed

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Admitted or current student at IU Indianapolis or Marian University with preference given to (a) students planning to enroll in 9 or more credit hours, (b) first-year students, and (c) graduates from Marion County high schools
  • Good communication skills for writing documents and presenting in front of groups
  • Demonstrated volunteer or paid experience working with peers, such as student club member, athlete on a team, retail job, youth organizer at a faith community, or other work
  • Understanding of Latino or other cultures, including factors affecting student aspirations to attend college
  • All students will be considered regardless of race, ethnicity, or citizenship/immigration status
