LATINO LEADERSHIP AWARDS

ILI LATINO LEADERSHIP RECOGNITION AWARD SERIES

The Indiana Latino Institute has launched a statewide effort to recognize Indiana Latino talent in three different tiers of their careers.

Soon to be the largest population of color in Indiana, the thriving Latino community has a plethora of members who have accomplished feats, are leaders in their fields, and are catalysts in others’ successes. Woven throughout the public and private sectors, these individuals lead community groups, operate businesses, manage institutional services, excel in media, serve on boards, mentor others, and more. They have helped create an environment conducive to growth—a 40% increase in Indiana’s Latino population from 2010 to 2020.

As many successful Latinos deserve to be acknowledged for their accomplishments benefitting Hoosiers and their communities, the Indiana Latino Institute (ILI) created a program to identify and commend three classes of Latino leaders:

ILI created the Latino Leadership Legacy to recognize and honor Latinos who have built legacies through decades of service and contributions to Indiana and local communities. The Latino Leadership Legacy recipients are those whose persistent achievements span over many years, made their mark in their respective fields, improved Hoosier outcomes, and have relentlessly addressed systemic barriers to pave the way for more Latinos.

The Indiana Latino Institute created the ELEVATED Latinos Under 40 to recognize and honor outstanding Latinos who have contributed to our local communities, including the Latino community. These Latinos have paved paths and built careers that outshine their peers.  These successful and community members have distinguished themselves and have promising futures. Identifying them will propel them to greater heights.

ILI’s Rising Latino Stars in their 20s was established to recognize and honor up-and-coming visionary Latinos who have contributed to our state and local communities.  To showcase and celebrate our many young and talented Latinos across the state, the Indiana Latino Institute created this recognition for accomplished individuals who have achieved great success early in their careers.  These are young Latinos who have accomplished noteworthy milestones.
